Creatures of the Night

Creatures of the Night

This past weekend we headed back to York, PA for the Creatures of the Night show. Some events pretend to be something more than what they really are. Not this one.  It’s a laid-back show that features all sorts of cars, trucks, and bikes – just like Visual Reality CC, the creators of this event. The Art Institute of York makes a cool backdrop for the show and it’s parking lot is barely enough to hold all the cars that showed up this year.

The temperature was in the triple digits and it felt to us more like the infamous “Now I know why they call it” Texas Heat Wave. Dark clouds flirted with us for hours til it finally rained for a few minutes and cooled things down.

While we were walking around the show, we stumbled upon this SRT-4 Neon on Corvette wheels. Expect to see a feature in the near future.

It’s always nice to be able to come to a show that has a relaxed atmosphere. Special thanks goes out to the Visual Reality crew for their hospitality. Shout out to the BBQ stand in the corner – delightful!

Tuner Evolution

Tuner Evolution

This past weekend we hit up the much anticipated Tuner Evolution car show at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York, PA. We had teamed up with the Tuner Evolution staff even before spring had hit to kick off promotion for this event with a special edition collabo t-shirt. If you missed us at the show, we were all the way at the back of the rear stadium parking lot so we’ll have to catch you at the next event we hit up – which will also be in York this coming week.

We were stoked to debut Donnie’s Mk4 Jetta for the first time on AirLiftCompany suspension. He had it aired out and looking fresh, along with Ian’s TDI Mk3 Jetta, and the Iancredible Ruckus. Josh Deshong (of Josh Deshong “likes” this fame) brought out his bobber and severe cambered radio flyer. And at least we got to spend the day with Carlisle Events,  Mummbles Marketing, and Izzy!

The car competition was actually pretty fierce at the event. Our homie Mr. Pham showed up, along with the rest of Liberty VIP Club, showing the crowd what proper stance and fitment looks like.

If  you’re on the internet – and you are if you’re reading this – then you’ve probably heard of D Money. He brought out his shaved bay Subaru and it looked fantastic.

But the highlight of the event for us had to be Becker asking the barber – who had set up shop in the concourse behind home plate – for the Rick Vaughn. Wild Thing!

Speaking of wild things, the NTO Motorsports old school Corolla’s were both insane – one sporting a 2JZ swap and the other a Lexus V8. Yup.

Last weekend, our homie Jason Richardson headed out to the Xtreme Drift Circuit & Remix car show event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. XDC & Remix recently caused a bit of an internet stir by announcing that the legendary Hot Import Nights tour will be returning. Yup. We can’t wait to see how it turns out!

A couple things came to mind when we started checking out the photos from this event. One – Jason takes much better photos than we do. Two – it looks like there was some good quality cars there. Shout out to Team Emotion. We like to see you guys back in action.

Mk1 Madness

Mk1 Madness

This past weekend we set out towards Maple Grove Raceway Park again for the annual gathering of old school vw enthusiasts known as Mk1 Madness. The event takes place at the campground adjacent to the dragstrip, and while you could hear the sounds of american muscle burning down the track off in the distance all weekend, it was quite a different story in the woods. The show itself is only open to Mk1 vw’s and takes place on Sunday at seemingly no particular time. But the crowd begins to show up on friday throughout the day to set up camp – which is when we came and set up our little shanty town right along the edge of the main drag. Aside from the Sonic cruise Saturday afternoon, the rest of the weekend was spent around campfires, drinking beer, ghost-riding vanagons, and hanging out with Justin Beiber and Lou Diamond Phillips look-alikes. As you might guess, a certain amount of chaos ensued, but the event staff was on top of things – making sure the weekend was both fun and safe for everyone. The campground was a cool environment for an event like this.  Thanks to Esher and the fam for having us out!

We snapped some pics throughout the weekend and of course on Sunday out on the showfield. Enjoy!

This past week we set out with Ian Browning to find a cool spot out in the country for a photo shoot. Ian’s one of our homies and he parks in the booth at alot of the vw shows we attend. So we figured he’d be a perfect candidate for a little feature on the site.  We hit the twisty and turny mountain roads and eventually stumbled upon this cool old school covered bridge. It turned out to be a perfect spot for a photo shoot and some snake wranglin’.

Quick specs on the car:
Junk Styles widened steel wheels – 15×8 et 20 (front) and 15×9 et18 (rear)
Toyo T1R 195/45/15 all around
Raceland coilovers
Tan leather interior swap
8380 mirror deletes
“Wink” Mirror
2.5″ straight pipe exhaust
