RIP Jonas Bevacqua – LRG Founder

RIP Jonas Bevacqua – LRG Founder

Jonas Bevacqua, co-founder and creative director of LRG, was found dead in Los Angeles today. A tweet from Karmaloop this morning read: “Our thoughts & prayers go out to the loved ones of Jonas, co-founder of LRG. We’re deeply saddened by this news. Rest in Peace.” The L-R-G (Lifted Research Group) fashion brand has been one of the fastest growing companies in the “streetwear” culture and has been highly influential to us.  Jonas was only 34 years old.

“Everything that grows has roots.  Adopt children, not styles. ”

Carlisle P&S coverage

Carlisle P&S coverage

It pretty much rained all weekend, but we still had fun. Carlisle always puts on an interesting show and this year it didn’t disappoint. We sold completely out of our limited edition Save The Skylines shirts during the course of the weekend. Don’t sleep on these things!

We had our own little corner of the world at the event, with a merch booth just inside Building T – and even more stance-tastic cars outside in our own little makeshift meet area known as the Stance Stance Revolution. Alot of cool people came by to chill.

We asked photographer Jason Richardson to come up and shoot the show. And the pics look great! Despite the weather.

Care Three

Care Three

We asked Anthony Care to park in our Stance Stance Revolution display at Carlisle P&S this past weekend. He ended up winning a Best Stance award. We planned on finding a cool spot on the fairgrounds to do a photo shoot after the show was over. But at the exact time the cars were able to roll out of the building, the light rain we had gotten all weekend turned into a torrential downpour. We can only imagine how sketchy the drive home in the rain was with all that camber and rear wheel drive M power. So instead of a cool photo shoot on top of a giant hill overlooking the fair gounds, here is some pictures in front of the old school blue & white drapes inside Carlisle’s building T.

BBQ Vid

Here’s a pretty cool video from this past weekend’s BBQ & Dyno Day at CBRD Speedfactory – sent to us by the Tuner Evolution guys. Enjoy.

BBQ – Tuner Evolution x CBRD dyno day

Over the weekend we dodged potholes down I-83 for Tuner Evolution‘s BBQ & Dyno Day at CBRD Speedfactory in York, PA. The event is part open house for the shop and part round-up to raise awareness of this summer’s upcoming Tuner Evolution car show. Shout-out to the guys at CBRD for having one of these cleanest performance shops we’ve seen in some time. Their Evo’s are no joke either. The BBQ itself was pretty chill – a bunch of folks hanging out to the sounds of DJ MasterPeel.

Traffik Jam!

Traffik Jam!

The website for the much anticipated Traffik Tour event series has been launched. Their kick-off event is less than a month away and we’re gonna be there to see it. These fools are shutting down Main Street in the town of Speedway, a stone’s throw away from the racetrack, during Indy 500 weekend. It’s going to be insane. Head on over to their website and set-up your own driver profile – or get registered for the show.  TraffikTour.com

Save The Skylines – Carlisle P&S

Save The Skylines – Carlisle P&S

Maybe you haven’t heard, the US Government has been seizing Skyline’s that had been previously imported all over the country. We decided to voice our opinion. So in an attempt to raise awareness – or possibly just an attempt to raise our voices – we’ll have our own Save The Skylines Tee at Carlisle P&S exclusively.

TriStateTuners Annual Sonic Meet

TriStateTuners Annual Sonic Meet

The past few years, we’ve heard about this big Sonic Drive-In meet in Morgantown, PA. We’ve never made it out before, but it was called to our attention that it was happening this weekend… and we decided that we should pop-in and check it out. Not only that, we were able to set-up shop thanks to Advert Graphix and Carlisle Events. We had crowds around the booth  before we were even fully operational and it stayed like that all day. We’ll be re-upping on gear and stickers way sooner than we had anticipated.

As for the meet, chances are they call it the Sonic Meet because it started out within the Sonic Drive-thru parking lot. But judging by yesterday’s event it is much more than that. There had to be well over 1,000 cars there spilling over into every parking lot in the entire plaza. We saw a lot of cool shit and met a lot of cool people. Best of all, the event proceeds go to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Volksfest

Volksfest

Volksfest has always been one of the most laid back and enjoyable vw events. This year they upgraded the venue and held the show at the Mount Hope Winery – which is also the  site of the PA Renaissance Fair. If you remembered to bring a hoodie it was a great day to chill in the sun, check out all the usual suspects of the vw scene, and sip on some of the beer that was brewed on-site by the winery. We brought out all the new t-shirt designs and we’re glad to say we sold a ton of them. Don’t sleep on these, looks like they’re gonna go quick. Get yourself out to the big TriStateTuners Sonic meet tomorrow we’re thinking about doing a pop-in.

Here’s some pictures from the show:
